As the summer season comes to an end, if you’re like me, you’re dreaming about heading out on a fun girls’ trip. Spending a night or two — or three, with your gal pals in a luxurious resort being pampered, while enjoying a minty mojito seaside, and reconnecting with your girlfriends…does it get any better than that?
Splitting vacation expenses can get a little hairy, even among the best of friends. When you enjoy a girls’ night out for dinner, it’s easy for everyone to figure out their share and split the bill, but that’s not the case when it comes to vacation expenses. Whether it’s a road trip, cruise, or a meet up in Miami, there can be several issues to work through before moving forward with actual vacation planning.
Make it a point to discuss about how you’ll split expenses with your travel companions. Will you be looking for a deal or going first class all the way? How will everyone split expenses? Will everyone chip in equal amounts? Will one person pay for everything and settle up after the fact? Remember to allow for the unplanned, such as a wine tasting or walking tour, in your budget.
When everyone returns home, check in with your friends about the girls’ getaway experience. Would they like to do it again? If so, is there anything they would change?
Because I got by with a little help from my girlfriends, I want to help you get help from your girlfriends. As always, please feel free to share your thoughts and experiences.

Planning ahead – whether in the itinerary or the expenses…makes for a much better experience all around. Remember – you are all friends before you leave…so remain friends when you return! Don’t let miss-communications about money get in the way! Have FUN!!
Exactly, Lisa.
Thank you. Xx
So true! Everything needs to be laid out in the beginning so there will be no surprises, certainly no resentments. Great tips!
Thank you. Have a trippin’ Tuesday!
I only travel with gal pals who are comfortable discussing the finances, both in advance and afterwards so that everyone has the smae expectations and that those expectations are met – it saves heartache and friendships! Great article!
