Living with Fibromyalgia: My Visalus Challenge – Inspired

I want to feel like her again!

I want to feel like her again!

I have finally reached a point in my bounce back where I can take on my little weight issue before it becomes a big issue. Today my weight is at 163.4 lbs. Prior to becoming disabled in 2009, I weighed between 137-142 lbs. When I stopped taking medications in November, 2010 I was at 202 lbs. In February, 2011 I started making lifestyle changes I believe were crucial and necessary for my health. Still struggling to lose these extra pounds, and become fit enough to play tennis again, when I saw the results my friend Lauralee achieved, and learned about Visalus, I decided it was time to take on “The Challenge.”

Motivated by an overwhelming desire to heal and be “normal” again, I search for answers to my physical challenges.  I started juicing organic fruits and vegetables. Preparing and eating organic meals daily. I stopped consuming products containing MSG, Aspartame, high fructose corn syrup, and most other products containing more than 5 ingredients. This lifestyle makeover lasted about a year. However, since I started feeling better I’ve deviated quite a bit.

These days I’m consuming more alcohol and making poor food choices. This feeling of disappointment for lacking the self control and discipline to lose this weight has been taking it’s toll on my health.  After consulting with my hematologist for issues I have with absorption, I’m ready to use Visalus to help me lose weight.

Visalus has a program they call “The Challenge.” A 90 day program to help you achieve your goals. Whether your goal is to loss weight, improve your performance, or add to a healthy lifestyle. The weight loss diet consists of replacing 2 meals with high protein shakes, eating a healthy balanced meal once per day, and 2 snacks.

I’ve read testimonials of people who have experienced relief from chronic pain and other fibromyalgia symptoms which is why I chose this diet to help me lose the extra pounds. In the next 90 days I will be chronicling my progress and my well-being. I hope you decide to join me for the journey.

What has inspired you to get healthier?

Because I got by with a little help from my girlfriends, I want to help you get help from your girlfriends. As always, please feel free to share your thoughts and experiences.
