Day 5: Finally feeling well and energized again.  The fibro-monster may win a few battles but I always win the war! I was planning on tracking my calories but that was a disaster– I’m not ready.  Today my challenge was not giving in and eating everything I wanted.  I skipped all the extras today.  We went out to eat for lunch and I skipped the sweet potato fries. At dinner I skipped the bread and butter and had my shake.  I was able to control my urge and psych my self up so I did not want or felt like I was missing out on anything, but will that always work?

Control Your Appetite with Sleep

When we’re exhausted, we crave everything in sight.  Especially if it’s high in carbs and/or sugar.  These foods give us comfort and energy.   To squash  the urge for fatty foods and get the energy you need, reach for a combo of complex carbs and protein.  Think eggs and toast, celery and peanut butter, yogurt and whole grain cereal, or hummus and veggies.  If you’re completely exhausted, go for high-fiber carbs. Think fruit, veggies, and whole grains.
