Day 6: It has been a very busy today.  I quoted 2 trips, wrote VIP letters for clients who will be traveling next week, met with a client, and finalized a few blog articles.  All in a days work.  Talk about blessings–I love what I do, the people I work with, and I do more than half of my work from my bed in pajamas.

I decided to enjoy the last shake in the evening.  Getting it in for lunch is not working for me so I’m switching it up.  I’m getting nervous.  In one more day I will weigh and measure myself.  Tomorrow we find out if I’m off to a good start…

Why is the Timing of Your Meals Important?

When your eating schedule allows for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks studies show it speeds up your metabolism.  Skipping meals sends a signal to your body to slow down and conserve energy.

One of the key meals in your day is breakfast. According to a report by Dr. Joey Shulman, your metabolism is highest when you first awake so it’s important to eat within an hour and a half of waking.  Studies show breakfast not only increases your metabolism, but it also helps to prevent obesity, diabetes and heart disease, reports the American Heart Association.  After breakfast have a snack to hold you over until lunch.  Then eat another snack between lunch and dinner, or before you go to bed.  Eating regularly will help you maintain a normal blood glucose level which can make you feel satisfied longer, reducing the chances of overeating that occurs when we become extremely hungry.
